Two vintage all original very rare and hard to find 1930's/1940's Metropolitan opera star Lily Pons and Andre Kostelanetz Golden Age Of Opera operatic music promo promotional publicity photographs photos. They are from the estate of Dorothy Crowthers who was the Editor-In-Chief Of The Baton magazine of The Institute Of Musical Art Of The Juilliard School Of Music from 1922 to 1932. One 1930's glossy finish 8 1/4" by 11 5/8" signed autographed inscribed Lily Pons photo with the signature autograph inscription reading "To Miss Dorothy Crowthers, My Compliments, Lily Pons, 1931". The photo is in a heavy stock pulp-type mat frame with a silver sticker at the bottom right that reads "Studio Lorelle, Paris". The photograph and autograph are in very good to excellent condition. One 10" by 8" sepia style glossy 1940's photo of Pons and Andre Kostelanetz marked "De Bellis, N. Y., 9". The photos shows use and storage wear and has a crease on the bottom left side as pictured. It is in overall good to very good condition. Alice Josephine Pons (Lily Pons) was a French-American operatic soprano and actress. Kostelanetz was a famous Russian-born American orchestral music conductor and arranger. I have more photos on auction now and will be listing many other photos from the estate some signed and some unsigned in the near future.
