    Description

    This listing is for a handbuilt 3 string fretless cbg box guitar. Electric or acoustic. Starting with a "Romeo Y Julieta" box, it was cut for the 1 1/2 inch wide Poplar neck, then two single coil pickups were added with custom made wood covers, with a volume and tone control, and a 3 way switch to switch from one pickup to the other, or both. Volume knobs are red anodized aluminum, modified from automotive tire valve caps, and a red pinstripe tape run around them. Vintage look box corners were added, and the fronts have a little 'heart' in them, to go with the Romeo and Juliet theme. Has a small movable bolt and nut (to adjust the intonation if needed) for the bridge, and the bridge 'cover' is a cup type drawer pull knob. I added one of my traditional vintage look wall mount bottle openers. The sound holes are just small covers that were painted gold. The box corners on the rear are a lot more 'protective' than the front corners. I also added some 1/4 red pinstripe tape to the front of the box. Fretboard is Poplar, and has black painted frets where the red marker dots are, but the other frets are just clear coated wood. The nut is Corian, and the tuners are vintage type open gear, with white knobs. Headstock was also custom cut. Neck is stained and cleared to appear to be 'worn vintage' look.  25 1/2 inch scale.  String gauges are .044, .034, and .026. This can be played with a slide or fingerstyle. This is NOT a 'perfect' guitar, as most cbg's AREN'T! There are some small flaws here and there, but overall, very nice! This is an AS-IS listing, you get what is in the pics.
