The int compartment was fashioned to hold ox hair shoes polishing brushes, shoepolish paste in tins, rags & other shoeshining accessories. This was really all an urban shoeshine boy or for that matter girl, needed to set up shop at a railroad station, bus terminal, taxi stand or on a street corner anywhere. This shoeshine kit allowed them to be self-sustaining in a less than benevolent world & one ravaged by economic decline & the Great Depression. This authentic, untouched, unmolested & 100% orig shoeshine polishing caddy or footstool, is complete. It wasn't found w/the brushes, polish tins & rags, that would have surely been kept inside in the int, built-in compartment. It boasts a varnished pine surface & the sidewalls were steamed in a round, Art Deco inspired form. Terrific. Untouched. Original.Time warp again. Wow!

    This vintage early 20th century wooden shoeshine-boy footstool/polishing caddy, features Art Deco, curved veneer wooden body design, with cut-out feet and arched footrest. The interior compartment was fashioned to hold ox hair shoe polishing brushes, shoe polish paste in tins, rags and other period shoe-shining accessories.
