    In addition to being one of the greatest violinists of his time, Thibaud was also renowned for his warm sense of humor. In this letter he is twenty-two.

    -- The first quotation consists of a C Major scale, followed by the exclamation "Not easy that?!"
    -- The second quotation is the first two bars of the famous Beethoven Romance in F.
