    Autographed 6.5" x 10" presentation style photo of the late virtuoso pianist, 1957. The image is from a program.
    Mirka Pokorná (1930 - 2017) was a Czech pianist. She excelled especially as an interpreter of the works of composers of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries (Frederic Chopin, Robert Schumann, Bedřich Smetana, Sergei Prokofiev, Aram Khachaturian and others).
    She was born in the family of evangelical minister Miroslav Pokorný and teacher Marta Pokorná. She started her studies with Professor Vilém Kurz. She studied at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague with Professor Ilona Štěpánová-Kurzová and finished her studies in 1953. She became twice a prize winner of international piano competitions, won the Bedřich Smetana Award. She has performed in many European countries.
