Hughes, who died in 2018, was a master of what she called “imitative techniques,” using polymer clay to duplicate lighter, less expensive versions of semi-precious stones.
This tape includes all the information you’ll need to create beautiful jewelry and objects simulating jade. You will begin by making a range of jade-like colors for your projects. You’ll learn how to make three different types of beads: a pendant blending two jade-like colors, a biconal bead shading three colors together and a tabular bead whose surface you carve and paint. Enclosed is a list of materials and tools which will be featured on the tape, and a diagram of proportions for color mixing. Released in 1994. Running time 90 minutes.
