Vintage all original very rare and hard to find 1920's Golden Age Of Opera operatic music Louis Eckstein photograph signed inscribed autographed signature autograph. The photo is from the estate of Dorothy Crowthers who was the Editor-In-Chief Of The Baton magazine of The Institute Of Musical Art Of The Juilliard School Of Music from 1922 to 1932. It is a glossy sepia type autographed and signed in black ink "To My Dear Friend Dorothy Crowthers An Enthusiastic Admirer Of Ravinia Opera With Affection, Louis Eckstein, April 10, 1929". Eckstein was an opera patron, Director Of The Metropolitan Opera, backer and originator (1911) of The Ravinia Opera, rail executive, publisher and real estate operator in Chicago. The photo measures 10" by 8". The photo is marked "Rayhuff-Richter, Chicago". The signature autograph and photo are in excellent condition as pictured. One original candid photo of Mrs. Eckstein from Mrs. Crowthers' personal scrapbook. This one of a kind photo was taken by Crowthers. The caption reads "Mrs. Louis Eckstein And Admiral Crosley". Rear Admiral Walter Selwyn Crosley was a recipient of the Navy Cross. The photo was taken on a cruise or military ship. The photo measures roughly 2 3/4" by 4 1/2"and is in very good to excellent condition. I will be listing many other photos from the estate some signed and some unsigned in the near future.
